All The Other Bits You Need To Know

  • So what shall I wear ?

Come along wearing whatever you feel comfortable in.  It gets hot and sticky so maybe not your fave woolly jumper. Most hot yogis tend to wear leggings or shorts with a vest top - nothing too baggy. Gentlemen please be mindful of keeping yourself contained when upside down!!

  • What if i feel faint or dizzy?

At any point during the class if you feel light-headed or faint, just rest in child's pose or lay on your mat until the feeling passes.  Try and acclimatise  yourself to the heat rather than bolting out of the door

  • Can i do yoga if i'm not flexible?

Absolutley! You are a perfect candidate for yoga. Many people think they need to be bendy to do yoga, but that’s nonsense. Come as you are and you will find that yoga practice will help you become more flexible.

This newfound agility will be balanced by strength, coordination, and enhanced cardiovascular health, as well as a sense of physical confidence and overall well-being.

  • Should i eat before a yoga class?

At Yogabomb we twist from side to side, turn upside down, and bend forward and backward. If you have not fully digested your last meal, it will make itself known to you in ways that are not comfortable. I would recommend to not eat anything substantial for the 2 hours prior to class.  Protein shakes are handy to have for a little something before an early class

  • What do i need to bring

Just bring yourself! Preferably suitably dressed in leggings/shorts and a t-shirt to start - nothing too baggy.  We have mats that you can hire for £1 whilst you discover how amazing yoga is! A towel and water are also advised!

  • How often should i practice?

Every day of course!!!

Apart from this isn't practical for most people. Start off with once or twice a week and build up as you feel the need.  See how yoga can compliment your other training methods and don't forget to mix it up a little

  • So I'm ready to start my yogic experience, what should i expect from my first class?

Turn up 15 minutes before the start of the class so you can chat to the instructor about your fitness and any injury worries.  Turn off you mobile phone and leave your shoes outside the studio.  You will be shown the facilities and the studio where you can find your energy spot and mat space.  Meet the other yogis in the room or just enjoy some headspace.

We are excited to welcome you to Yogabomb and guiding you through your practice

What else.......?

  • Where shall i park?

We do have a car park at the rear of Hedley House Hotel but priority is given to hotel guests.  Midweek January/February you might get a spot if you're lucky.  Always check with hotel reception before leaving your car there!

The nearest parking is at St Mary's car park, there are some paces on the left hand side of Bootham Terrace which allow 60 minutes, or you can find free 2 hour parking spaces opposite Clifton Bingo (a 5 minute walk away)

  • Will i get sweaty?

YES! But we have full changing and showering facilities at Yogabomb.  If you forget your towel we can lend you one for £1
